Hollywood Actress Died Biography
Dec 20, 2009 - TMZ is reporting actress Brittany Murphy died this morning of cardiac arrest. According to the gossip site, Murphy, 32, was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center following a 911 call from her husband, Simon Monjack. Murphy couldn't be revived and was pronounced dead early this morning.
Murphy broke onto the scene in 1995's Clueless playing a kooky character totally out of place amid all the upper class valley girls. Murphy also starred as Eminem's girlfriend in 8 Mile as well as a series of romantic comedies including Uptown Girls, Just Married, Summer Catch, and Little Black Book. Her dramatic credits included Sin City, Girl, Interrupted, and The Dead Girl.
Murphy had recently completed work on Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables, the thriller Abandoned with Dean Cain, and Something Wicked with Julian Morris.

Update - The Los Angeles County Coroner confirmed Brittany Murphy died of apparent natural causes (in other words, there were no signs of foul play). Murphy was pronounced dead at 10:04am PST. An autopsy is planned and authorities are looking into the health history of the 32 year old actress who was transported to the hospital at 8am this morning after collapsing in her bathroom.

Update Dec 21 - Brittany Murphy's family issued a statement through her publicist saying, "The sudden loss of our beloved Brittany is a terrible tragedy. She was our daughter, our wife, our love and a shining star. We ask you to respect our privacy at this time."
The LA Coroner's office has completed the autopsy. Results are pending.

Update Feb 4, 2010 - The LA Coroner's office released the results of Brittany Murphy's autopsy and the official cause is listed as community acquired pneumonia, iron deficiency anemia and multiple drug intoxication. Murphy's cause of death was ruled accidental.
